As the government organization responsible for leading the development and growth of long-term diversified business and employment opportunities in St. Louis County, the St. Louis County Economic Council (SLCEC) had numerous application requirements for its website in addition to its desire for a professional design. Captiva's Empoweren content management system not only fulfilled these requirements, but the Captiva Marketing team was able to provide the design and development assistance to build the site quickly and cost-effectively.
Expanded News Section
A robust news section features recent news articles, press releases, online monthly newsletters, a calendar of events, and a photo gallery featuring shots from recent events. The SLCEC also participates in a number of events, so the site heavily relies on the News, Publicist, and Calendar Manager to keep St. Louis informed.
Photo Galleries
One of the highlights of the site is the major projects gallery, where all of the recent business developments are noted with images of the new buildings. In many cases, visitors can learn more and be taken to pages with mini photo galleries that further depict the development.
Custom Integration
Since the organization is part public entity and part private sector, it needed a way to recognize its generous sponsors on its home page. To accomplish this need, the Empoweren development team created the Sponsors module, a relatively straightforward program that allows one to add company logos onto a page and then have them appear in a flash area on the home page.
